To ensure complete transparency, we have outlined each step of our exterior detailing process, detailing the professional methods we use to safely restore and enhance your vehicle’s appearance.
PREPARATION
Before we begin your exterior clean, we start off with a vehicle check and diagnostic overview.
We will assess the condition of the paint for imperfections such as: deep scratches, holograms, industrial fallout, tree sap stains & bird dropping etchings. We will also assess for anything such as rim damage, scratched windows & matted headlamps.
We do this in order to estimate possible work, and to advise the client competently. It is imperative for us to be able to identify these types of damage in order to protect ourselves and give the client a qualified explanation identifying issues they may not have acknowledged.
WHEELS & RIMS
A specialist reactive wheel cleaner is carefully applied to all alloy wheels, with product selection and dwell time adjusted based on the level of contamination. This allows embedded brake dust and iron particles to safely break down.
Stubborn deposits are then gently agitated using dedicated, non-abrasive detailing brushes to ensure effective removal without compromising the wheel finish.
The wheel barrels, arches, and tyres are thoroughly deep cleaned using a professional-grade wheel shampoo and ultra-soft microfibre brushes. This method ensures complete decontamination while minimising the risk of scratching or surface damage, leaving all components clean, refined, and ready for protection.
BODYWORK
The entire vehicle is pre-treated with a professional exterior cleaning solution, ensuring full coverage of all bodywork surfaces, including intricate areas such as door shuts, panel edges, and the fuel filler cap. This process safely loosens surface dirt and traffic film prior to contact washing.
All exterior surfaces are then carefully agitated using soft, paint-safe wash media to lift contamination without compromising the paintwork. Areas of heavier soiling are revisited and methodically reworked to ensure thorough cleaning, with particular attention given to the safe removal of industrial fallout and stubborn contaminants.
The vehicle is then hand washed using the professional two-bucket wash method, significantly reducing the risk of swirl marks and wash-induced marring. Once fully cleansed, the vehicle is carefully dried using premium microfibre drying towels to prevent water spotting.
Final attention is given to the targeted removal of water marks, tar deposits, and tree sap residues, ensuring the vehicle is left clean, refined, and ready for the next stage of detailing.
FINISHING TOUCHES
All exterior plastic and trim components are carefully cleaned and treated to restore a rich, uniform finish while protecting against fading and environmental wear. A high-quality trim dressing is applied to enhance appearance and provide lasting protection without leaving an artificial or greasy residue.
Tyres are thoroughly cleaned and dressed using a professional tyre dressing to achieve a clean, satin finish. This not only improves visual appeal but also helps protect the rubber from cracking, UV damage, and premature ageing.
All exterior glass surfaces are then cleaned using a streak-free, professional-grade glass cleaner, ensuring maximum clarity and visibility while removing traffic film, smears, and water marks.
